ST. HELENA, NAPA VALLEY
A Pure and Undiluted Expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Merus is a Latin word meaning pure and undiluted which carries through to our winemaking philosophy. Originally crafted in a garage, the first vintage of Merus, 1998, received rave reviews from the press. Parker called it, “…one of the finest wines of the vintage.” It earned its cult status through hard work, uncompromising standards and incredible fruit grown in the cooler Coombsville AVA of southeastern Napa Valley.
Since its inaugural release, Merus continues to impress reviewers and has earned four 96 point scores. Severe pruning, cluster sorting, small lot fermentation and careful barrel selection using 100% new French oak combine to create a wine that is dense, concentrated and nuanced. Merus is dedicated to crafting Cabernet Sauvignon that is a pure expression of the land.
