First Estate Winery in Santa Barbara County

Founded in 1972, Firestone was the first estate winery established in Santa Barbara County. Located near the quaint town of Los Olivos, the property features a historic winemaking facility, beautiful visitors’ center and impressive estate vineyards that carpet the rolling hills of this pastoral region.

Our 325-acre property lies 26 miles from the Pacific Ocean, outside of the small town of Los Olivos. This location is warmer than neighboring areas of Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley, yet cooler than the eastern areas of Happy Canyon. The result is a viticultural “sweet spot” with a long growing season that is suitable to many varieties. Known for its wide diversity of well-drained soil types, our estate yields wines that are richly intense and firmly structured. This incredible diversity allows us to grow seven classic grape varieties: Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

Our journey has spanned across families and generations, and our approach to wine is the same. While we celebrate our history, we embrace the future.
